EXB Solutions Opens Bemidji Office
EXB Solutions, a high-end test engineering firm, has selected Bemidji to be their primary office location. They opened their Bemidji office last June with a staff of six test engineers. Other EXB offices are located in Wayzata (MN), Phoenix (AZ) and Huntsville (AL). EXB hired five seniors from the Physics Engineering Program at Bemidji State University as some of their initial employees. They have been awarded their Federal HUB Zone certification which will give them extra points in securing government contracts.

$46 Million Development Project

Bemidji Regional Events Center Under Construction
The new 193,000 square foot factility is now being built on the south shore of Lake Bemidji. It will host concerts, conventions, trade shows, festivals and be the home of the Bemidji State University Beaver Hockey Teams. The Center will seat 4,000 people for sporting events and 6,000 for concerts. It is expected to completed by the Fall of 2010. Kraus-Anderson Construction Company is the prime contractor on the project.

City of Bemidji Building Permits Top $37 Million for 2008
Bemidji posted their second highest building permit year on record last year. Construction came from a wide venue including multi-family home construction, long term care housing, commercial and government buildings.

$3.5 Million Renovation of Diamond Point Park

Diamond Point Park Sparkles!
The City has completed the total renovation of Diamond Point Park, its premier park along the west shores of Lake Bemidji. The $3.5 million renovation is the first project in a $9 million park development plan that is supported by the City's 1/2 cent sales tax.

Bemidji Industrial Park

Industrial Park Expansion Completed
Construction is finished on the 68 acres that have been added to the Bemidji Industrial Park on the south side of the City. Streets, sewer and water lines were installed so the sites are shovel ready. This is a $2.6 million project funded by EDA, DEED, the Bemidji Development Corporation and the City of Bemidji Utility Fund. The site is in a JOBZ and HUB Zone area.
