Bemidji, Minnesota is located approximately 200 miles north of Minneapolis - St. Paul at the intersections of US Highways 2 and 71. It is connected by a four lane highway to Interstate 29 to the west at Grand Forks, North Dakota. Seventy miles south of Bemidji is US Highway 10 that provides a four lane highway connection to the Twin Cities and Interstate 94 near St. Cloud, Minnesota.
There are eight trucking companies that operate in and around the Bemidji area hauling a variety of products all across the US and Canada. They would include Finn Trucking, C D Haugen Trucking, Jim Hurt Trucking, Senske and Sons, Wintersteen Trucking, Cross Country Courier, Rantala Trucking and Virtan Express.
The Northwest District Headquarters of the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MNDOT) is located in Bemidji which gives quick access to highway design engineers and maintenance crews for year round highway operations.
