Wages
Qualified workers are available at lower cost than in other regions. The availability of workers to do assembly work is of greatest interest. Wage information by occupation is available by region. The Headwaters Region, which includes the Beltrami LMA and two other counties, has the lowest wages for assemblers and fabricators of any region of the state. The median wage is $13.44 per hour. (DEED, Minnesota Salary Survey, 3rd Quarter 2009, http://www.deed.state.mn.us/lmi/tools/oes.htm) In this low-wage labor market a new employer could be the employer of choice by paying relatively high wages and attracting the best workers.
