Center for Advanced & Emerging Technologies

Bemidji State University’s Center for Advanced and Emerging Technologies (CAET) is the focal point for Technological Studies for the campus and northwest Minnesota. Phase 1 of the building has been completed and Phase 2 opened at the beginning of the Fall Semester 2006. The CAET Center will house all of the technology programs on BSU’s campus…proto-type design, model building, applied engineering and construction management. It will also be used for developing advanced manufacturing processes where regional companies can come on campus and try out new technologies for their products. The Center will further be the design lab for the new 3dH holographic design technology.  It is only one of three such centers in the United States.

This site on Bemidji State University’s campus will also house the Center of Excellence in Applied Engineering, a new technology program instituted by the MnSCU Chancellor’s Office that will see funding of $5 million from the State Legislature over a two year time period. The educational consortium will help students develop strong math and science skills and engage their creativity in manufacturing through “hands on” learning activities and summer camps.
